SMS Booking
A very powerful facility that instructs the system to find an available time slot of the given length and then book it for you. This saves you sending one message to view the bookings and then a second message to make a booking and is useful if you just fancy flying (typically today) for a few hours but are not unduly concerned about the actual time. The general format of the message is:
avshared [regno] find [length] [timeperiod] [date]
You will receive an sms message back informing you of what time has been booked, or if no slot of the requested length is available you will be informed of the longest slot available and when it is.
Examples:
| • | will find and book an available 2 hour slot today. The start time will be at least the number of hours from now that you have specified in your 'delay to accept a booking' setting in my details, the end time will be 18:00 |
| • | will find and book an available 1 hour slot today, again using the same criteria for the search time period as in the first example |
| • | will find and book an available 2 hour slot starting after 12:00 today. |
| • | will find and book an available 2 hour slot somewhere between 13:00 and 15:00 today |
| • | avshared find 3 9:30-18 20 |
| • | will find and book an available 3 hour slot between 9:30 and 18:00 on the 20th of this month or the 20th of next month if the 20th of this month has already passed |
| • | avshared find 3 10-17 2008 |
| • | will find and book an available 3 hour slot between 10:00 and 17:00 on the 20th August |
Note: In all the above examples you can specify a specific aircraft by inserting its registration number as a word immediately after the word avshared
